2016 Vidal Blanc
We produce this delicious aromatic white wine from the same grape variety as our famous Fiori Vidal Blanc Ice Wine.
Viticulture
Grapes: 100% Vidal Blanc
Appellation: Finger Lakes
Harvest date(s): Oct. 26, 2016
Viticulture notes: Vidal Blanc is a rare white French-American wine grape developed by Jean Louis Vidal in France in the 1930s. It is winter-hardy, with thick skins that resist frosts. We trellis it high above the ground and train it in a downward, umbrella-like growth pattern. It can hang late into the season and is often the last grape picked during harvest. It produces moderate sugar, plentiful natural acidity and a range of possible fruit flavors depending on the vintage, from pineapple and grapefruit to peach.
